According to MyHeritage, Sweeney and Monroe are ninth cousins once removed. The company told NBC it traced the actresses family trees through their paternal lines and found they share a common ancestor in Ezra Perry, an early English settler in Sandwich, Massachusetts, who lived from approximately 1625 to 1689. MyHeritage said the connection runs through Sweeney s father, Steven Sweeney, and Monroe s biological father, Charles Stanley Gifford. The company confirmed and verified the relationship through historical records and genealogical research. The discovery comes after years of comparisons between the two actresses. Fans have frequently dubbed Sweeney a modern-day Marilyn Monroe, citing her Old Hollywood-inspired fashion choices, blonde image and the intense public interest surrounding her perso
